History

With a rich history encompassing 150 years, Mount Battenhall is considered the finest Italianate mansion in Worcester. It was used as a military hospital for injured soldiers during the First World War, and later became a highly regarded school, operating for 80 years.

The Grade II* Listed main building is resplendent with exceptional, characterful details: dazzling stained-glass windows, mosaic tiled flooring, intricately carved friezes and an opulent chapel with marble floor and semi-precious stones. ERL is meticulously preserving and enhancing these original features to create a luxurious, modern retirement village that respects the estate’s heritage.
