The brighter weather and longer days provide the perfect opportunity to get out and about in the community, whether it’s spending time shopping, dining out, taking a walk in the park or enjoying local events.
Although the change of season brings with it the chance to embark on new adventures, the residents have certainly had their fair share of fun over the winter months, thanks to a whole host of carefully planned events arranged by The Willow’s in-house Activities Co-ordinator, Earl Edwards explains: “We had so much fun celebrating Christmas and New Year, it really was a fabulous time for the residents. There were plenty of parties and get-togethers as well as lots of festive-themed activities over the Christmas season.”
Residents were also treated to a special carol concert from the children of St Nicolas School, as well as a 1940s-themed performance from The Ronnies.
“Our residents love welcoming visitors and always enjoy a singsong, and so, The Ronnies’ vintage-inspired performance is always a favourite here at The Willows.”
There was a special treat for the home’s hard-working staff in December too: “For our staff Christmas party, we headed to Wolverhampton Racecourse, where we had an amazing time letting our hair down! It was great to see everyone having fun and looking amazing in their party outfits – it was a fabulous and well-deserved night out for us all!”
Residents couldn’t wait to hear all about the Christmas party and loved spending time looking at the photographs when the staff got back to work.
Whatever the occasion though, residents can always look their best at The Willows, thanks to regular visits from the home’s hairdressers: “The residents have been keen to try-out a fresh look for the new season and our hairdressers have been busy styling some great new looks for them over the last few weeks,” adds Earl.
